Steps to Create an Email Address in DirectAdmin
Step 1: Access DirectAdmin
You access your DirectAdmin control panel via a web browser typing your domain, followed by :2222 (e.g., www.yourdomain.com:2222).
Use the login credentials provided in the welcome email (username & password).
Step 2: Navigate to the ‘E-Mail Accounts’ Section
Once logged in, direct your attention to the “E-Mail Accounts” section.

Step 3: Create a New Email Account
Click the “Create Account” button.

Here, you’ll set up your new email address.
Choose a suitable username and set a strong password. A complex password will enhance security. DirectAdmin offers features like auto-generating strong passwords, saving time and effort.
You will notice one e-mail account already exists: username@yourdomain.com (where “username” is the control panel sign in name). This default account is permanent and cannot be deleted.
This default email account does not account towards your email account allotment.
Step 4: Customize Settings
- Choose your desired username.
- Click the icon to the left of the password field to randomly choose a secure password. Or add your own desired password.
- Click on ‘Max’ to have unlimited email space (within your account disk space allotment). Or you can limit disk space for individual email accounts.
- We currently limit our daily send limit to 200. This can not be changed.

Step 5: Save Settings
Finally, click on ‘Create Account’ button again.
After creating a new email address, a popup box will appear with the configuration info you’ll need to configure your email program.
